Our Commitment

A Blessed Path, Inc. DBA ReliaRide (“ReliaRide”) is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under any program or activity it provides based on race, color, or national origin (pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964) or based on disability (under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, or ADA).

ReliaRide ensures that its services are accessible, equitable, and delivered in the most integrated setting appropriate to the needs of individuals, regardless of disability status. Discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, or disability by ReliaRide employees will not be condoned or tolerated.

    • Email: hr@reliaride.org

    • Mail: P.O. Box 417, Hartville, OH 44632

Investigation Process

Upon receipt, ReliaRide will review the complaint to determine jurisdiction. The complainant will receive an acknowledgment letter indicating whether the complaint will be investigated.

ReliaRide has 45 days to complete the investigation for Title VI complaints. If additional information is required, the complainant will be contacted and has 30 days from the date of the request to provide it. Failure to do so may result in administrative closure of the case.

Once the investigation is complete, the complainant will receive either:

  • A Letter of Finding – summarizing the allegations and actions taken, which may include corrective or disciplinary action, or

  • A Letter of Closure – summarizing the allegations and stating that no violation occurred and that the case will be closed.

Appeals Process

If the complainant disagrees with the decision:

  • Title VI complaints: Appeals must be submitted within 30 days of the decision.

  • ADA complaints: Appeals must be submitted within 21 days of the decision.

Appeals must be made in writing to the Director of Human Resources and may include additional evidence or personal testimony. The Appeals Committee will issue a recommendation within 72 hours of review, and ReliaRide will issue a final decision within 3 business days of that recommendation.

All individuals appealing a decision will be granted full due process, including the right to:

  • Submit additional evidence,

  • Appear in person at a hearing, and

  • Be represented by legal counsel.

Reasonable Modification Requests

ReliaRide provides reasonable modifications to policies, practices, and procedures when necessary to avoid discrimination on the basis of disability, unless:

  • The modification would fundamentally alter the nature of the service;

  • It would create a direct threat to the health or safety of others;

  • The individual can fully use the service without the modification; or

  • The modification poses an undue financial or administrative burden.

Requests may be made verbally or in writing and do not need to specifically reference the term “reasonable modification.” Requests should describe the needed change and may be submitted in advance or at the time of service. Drivers must consult management before approving or denying on-the-spot requests.

All requests will be responded to promptly. If a request is denied, the individual will receive a written explanation and may file a complaint using the procedure above.

Prohibition Against Retaliation

Any individual who files a complaint or participates in an investigation shall not be subjected to any form of intimidation or retaliation. Individuals who believe they have been subjected to retaliation may file a complaint following the same procedure described above.
